SICK to have new Chief Information Officer (CIO) from January 2007
Waldkirch, 25 October 2006 – The Waldkirch-based sensor technology group has appointed Dietmar Lummitsch (49) as Chief Information Officer (CIO), with effect from 1 January 2007. He will thus be responsible for all IT matters within the SICK Group.

As a member of the Management Board, the new CIO will report to Markus Vatter Executive Board member with responsibility for Finances, Personnel and IT. Lummitsch brings more than 20 years’ experience in Business Process Engineering and IT management from his previous activities. He is also active in the CIO Forum.

Dietmar Lummitsch was most recently CIO and Vice-President for Information and Communication Technology at ALTANA Pharma AG in Constance.

With degrees in engineering and commercial studies, he started his career as a software engineer and Project Manager at Philips. He subsequently became Senior Project and Unit Manager at Digital Equipment, Managing Director of the Eu-Log-System Management Company, Technical Director at Utimaco Safeware, Senior Manager at Andersen Consulting, CIO at the TÜV Southern Germany Holding, and Managing Director of TÜV Information Science and Consulting Services.
Dietmar Lummitsch thus takes over the duties of Peter Löhnert, his temporary predecessor since 1 January 2002.
